House Signs!
You may have noticed that cool house signs are popping up all over the neighborhood, coinciding with our Centennial. Some are keyed by name to the Viola Redmond map of Methodist Encampment in the 1950s, which is located at Uvalde and Tanglewood. Keep your eyes open, more are on the way!
If you’ve been thinking it might be nice to have a sign for your house…do it! There are no rules! They may be historical or whimsical, on any surface, whatever. If you need some help or more information, feel free to contact: methodistencampment@gmail.com
Rivendell Floral
Methodist Encampment is not only an interesting and beautiful place itself, it is also a place from which beautiful and interesting things flow out into the world. An example of this is the unusual business of one of our neighbors, Rivendell Floral. Its creator is deserving of a spot on the old TV show “What’s My Line?”: He sells STICKS…that’s right, sticks…decorative wood sourced from and shipped all over the world.
