The Making of the Little House of Peace Free Library
The Little House of Peace Free Library was first proposed on April 28th, 2018 to a group of Methodist Encampment neighbors having a potluck at the House of Peace. There was a strange niche in the retaining wall of the House of Peace which was formerly used for putting out the recycling bin; but when the City switched to a different type of recycling bin, the niche needed a new mission, and the owner decided to RECYCLE it as the new home for a Little Free Library.
Nearly every piece of the Little House of Peace Free Library has come from repurposed material or items from our own neighborhood or other historic buildings in Kerrville. Its design, construction and installation were carried out by five neighbors.
